USA, MI: Leigh's Brewing Co. to officially launch on May 15

Nearly a year after going before the Holland Township Board of Trustees to get approval for a liquor license, ownership for Leigh's Brewing Co. announced the business will open Thursday, May 15.

The new brewery is located in the former home of Hopland Brewstillery at 977 Butternut Drive. In July 2024, representatives said the business would be a family-run operation that includes Jessica Ringling and her sister Laurel — who both have Leigh as their middle name — along with their father and mother, Mary.

As the business launches, the idea is to focus on quality over quantity. The drink menu will expand and change week by week.

"We're starting with a small but mighty beer list," the business wrote on social media Wednesday, May 14. "And yes, there's more to come. In the meantime, we also have a selection of cocktails and spirits we think you'll love."

Hopland Brewstillery opened about seven years ago, but announced on social media in May 2024 the business had been listed for sale. It officially closed June 15. The space was also once home to Big Lake Brewing, which has since moved to downtown Holland.

Leigh's Brewing will be open 5-10 p.m.. Thursday, 3-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12-7 p.m. Sunday. Next week, the business will also be open 5-10 p.m. Wednesday.

Ownership said those who loved Hopland will see some familiar faces.

"Thanks for all your support and patience — it means the world," ownership wrote. "We can't wait to pour you a pint and celebrate this new chapter with you!"
