Ukraine: April barley export up 20% to 713,400 MT

This year April barley export has soared to 713,437 MT, up 119,000 MT (+ 20%) as of this year Mar and up 574,000 MT (+ 412.9%) against last year April, according to this year April foods export-import operative data, Agro Perspectiva reported May 23.

As to Agrarika Ltd experts, export rates sharp growth is due to companies having been permitted to sell barley on foreign markets only since this MY second half. As to Agrarika Ltd, 2006/07 MY Jul-Apr barley export totaled 4,570.000 MT, up against 3,505.000 MT in 2005/06 MY similar.

As to Agro Perspective earlier report, within this MY first half Ukrainian grains export was much problematic due to quoting/licensing. As to Agro Perspective, 2005/06 MY (Jul/05-Jun/06) total grains export equaled to 13.3 mil MT (incl. barley — 3,994.375 MT), up 20% as of 2004/05 MY.
