EU: Malt exports in July-November drop by 11% versus last year
EU malt exports (as per Taxud) from July 1 till November 25, 2018 amounted to 1.05 mln tonnes, down 11% from last year, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier in December.
Japan imported 87,000 tonnes of malt, minus 8.3 % and Vietnam 74,000 tonnes, minus 7%. The two countries still remain the largest customers of EU malt.
As in past campaigns, the H. M. Gauger GmbH analysts do expect higher (correct) numbers from IGC and Eurostat.
