USA, AZ: Formation Brewing soft-opens in downtown Phoenix

After nearly a year of delays, Formation Brewing finally has soft-opened on the southeast corner of Roosevelt and Fifth Street on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix, mouth by southwest reported on September 27.

The 10,000-square-foot, two-story brewery’s stunning interior features a sunken seating area beneath hovering circular lights, an airy upstairs bar, a full kitchen, and a patio filled with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs around fire pits.

Formation has four core beers – Desert Racer Pilsner, Western Winds West Coast IPA, Cloud Drifter Hazy IPA, and Sun Crest Peach Sour – on its 24 taps. Others include an American lager, Mexican lager, double IPA, pale ale, and saison.

The food menu offers Detroit-style pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers.

The brewery is part of Colorado-based Wilding Brands, a collective that includes Denver Beer Co., Great Divide Brewing, and Funkwerks.

Formation is the fifth craft brewery on Roosevelt Row, joining Greenwood Brewing, Arizona Wilderness Brewing, Pedal Haus Brewery, and Sana Sana Cerveceria.

Formation’s grand opening is slated for Nov. 8.
