USA, IA: 515 Brewing Co. to shut down for good after 12 years in business
After 12 years of serving award-winning beers such as Mexican Spring and #Quadgoals, the owners of 515 Brewing Co. in Clive decided to shut down the brewery, The Des Moines Register reported on December 19.
The seven-barrel brewery with a tasting room that offers beer by the glass and take-home crowlers opened in 2013 at 7700 University Ave., Suite C, in Clive. After Dec. 21, the brewery will be closed.
Owners Ryan Rost, Dave Ropte, Bailey Forrest, and Brandon Criger announced in August that they are ready to "step away from the brewing business." They continue to look for a buyer to take over the brewery.
"Opening a brewery and crafting our own beer was a dream come true," Rost said in a news release in August. The most rewarding part was sharing our beer with our community. We are beyond grateful to everyone who has supported us. Wed love to see someone bring new life to 515 Brewing and take it to the next level.
