EU: Malt exports off to slow start in season 2025-26
The EU-27 malt exports for the crop25-26 shipping cycle are off to a slow start and sits at the lower end of volumes from the past four years, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
This early slow pace is aligned to the crop21-22 cycle, which coincidentally was at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
Belgium leads exporting countries. The key importing countries continue to be led by Brazil, followed Japan, the UK, and rounded out by demand from African nations Nigeria and South Africa.
