World: Jack Daniels whiskey adds blackberry flavour to its range
Brown-Forman-owned Jack Daniels Tennessee whiskey has added a blackberry flavour to its range, The Spirits Business reported on August 5.
Clocking in at 35% ABV, Jack Daniels Tennessee Blackberry joins Honey, Fire and Apple in the brands flavoured whiskey lineup.
It is made with the distillerys Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, infused with fresh blackberry flavour.
Master distiller Chris Fletcher said: The smooth, well-rounded finish of our Tennessee whiskey makes it one of the most versatile expressions to pair with unexpected flavour.
By adding the ripe notes of blackberries, weve created an approachable spirit thats full of character, easy to enjoy with friends and perfect for any season.
The whiskey is said to have sweet and tangy blackberry notes, and is recommended neat, over ice or mixed into a cocktail.
Jack Daniels isnt the first whiskey producer to play with blackberry, Diageo-owned Crown Royal also put the fruit flavour into practice in April last year.
During a conference call in June for Brown-Formans full-year financial results, CEO Lawson Whiting called blackberry a globally recognised, well-established flavour trend.
He said: Weve been strategic and purposeful with our innovation using consumer insights and trends to give consumers the opportunity to explore and discover within the Jack Daniels family.
For the year ending 30 April 2025, Brown-Formans whiskey sales were up by 1%. Regarding Jack Daniels flavours, Tennessee Fire was down by 2%, but Tennessee Honey and Apple were up by 2 and 3% respectively.
Other new Jack Daniels releases this year have included the debut of a Vanilla Coke RTD and the distillerys oldest whiskey in a century, a 14-year-old Tennessee whiskey as part of its 2025 Aged Series releases .
Jack Daniels Tennessee Blackberry is available across the US in 750ml bottles for a suggested retail price of US$21.99.
At the end of May, Brown-Forman shook up its US distribution with new partnerships in 13 markets.
