Brewing news USA, CA: Moirae Brewing Company holds soft opening in Cameron Park

After over a year of searching for a permanent location, a family-owned craft brewery has opened its doors in the Sacramento area, Sacramento Bee reported on April 22.

Moirae Brewing Company held its soft opening in Cameron Park on Saturday, April 19.

“Moirae Brewing has found a home!” The brewery announced in a March 31 post on Instagram. “This move allows us to expand production, welcome our loyal customers and connect with new ones.”

Moirae Brewing Company owners Zach and Ariela Grinnell have dreamed of opening their own brewery more than a decade, according to the company’s website.

Zach Grinnell, a certified cicerone and beer judge, is an award-winning home brewer and former real estate agent, according to the brewery website and LinkedIn, while his wife has spent the past seven years working at tech company Cisco.

The pair spent five years living in Boston before moving back to the West Coast in 2016, the site said.

In 2019, after settling in El Dorado Hills, the Grinnells set their sights on opening their own brewery — only to have the coronavirus pandemic put those plans on hold.

Now what began as a brewing hobby has finally become a reality, the Moirae Brewing website said.

The Grinnells said they were inspired their trio of daughters to create Moirae Brewing, named after the ancient Greek myth of the Fates — the three sisters who control each mortal’s destiny.

“We want to contribute to our local community — in times of celebration, reconnection, collaboration and relaxation,” the owners said on the website. “It’s a legacy that we’re building for our family, one pint at a time.

Moirae Brewing Company is at 2650 Cameron Park Drive, Suite 370, in Cameron Park.

The building was formerly home to Camerado Brewing Company, a aviation-themed brewery that closed in early April.

In a March 30 Instagram post, Camerado Brewing representatives announced that Moirae Brewing was taking over the Cameron Park space.

“Thank you to all our family and friends who made our dream of building a neighborhood brewery possible,” Camerado Brewing said in a March 30 post on Facebook. “The community support was beyond what we could have imagined. We look forward to joining you for a pint on the patio at Moirae Brewing soon!”

Camerado Brewing Co. poured its final pint on Friday, April 4.
