Kazakhstan: Barley exports fall as compared to 2007/2008 MY
Kazakhstan exported 29.1 thousand tonnes of barley in October this year, 2.2 times more than the September export volume, but 3.1 times less than in October 2007, Zerno Online reported on December, 2.
Iran, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan were the main purchasers of Kazakh barley, buying 9.2 thousand, 7.9 thousand and 6.6 thousand tonnes respectively.
In total, during the 2008/2009 marketing year (July October), Kazakhstan exported 85.8 thousand tonnes of barley 35.6% less than over the same period of the last season.
