Brewing news Norway & Sweden: Olvi Group acquires majority share in Brewery International group

Beverage company Olvi Group has expanded its footprint in the Nordic region through the acquisition of a 51% majority share in the Brewery International group, ESM reported on December 15.

This group of companies specialises in the import and distribution of premium beverages across Norway and Sweden, with Olvi Group retaining an option to acquire the remaining shares at a later date.

The transaction is expected to be finalised in January 2026, though the value and specific terms have not been disclosed.

Brewery International’s business operations encompass two key areas: the Brewery International companies, which focus on brewery products; and the Mission Wine & Spirits companies, dedicated to quality wines and spirits.

This dual focus aligns with Olvi Group’s strategic objectives of expanding its multi-beverage portfolio and fostering international growth through branded partnerships.

With 29 employees and a revenue of €22 million in 2024, Brewery International is renowned for its extensive selection of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Notably, Brewery International represents leading global beer brands such as San Miguel and holds strong positions in the cider, RTD (ready-to-drink), soft-drink and energy drink categories.

The Mission Wine & Spirit companies complement this by importing and distributing wines and spirits from producers worldwide.

The group also boasts a broad customer base and a cross-channel presence, serving grocery retail, the on-trade sector (restaurants, bars) and monopoly markets in both Norway and Sweden.

Patrik Lundell, CEO of Olvi Group, emphasised the strategic importance of this acquisition, saying, “This is yet another step in advancing our strategic vision to become the most-wanted multi-local beverage house.

“It aligns with our target of developing our multi-beverage portfolio and growing internationally through branded partnerships.”

Lundell added, “This acquisition makes us an even more attractive and valued choice for existing and future partners.

“Together, we will bring our combined Nordic expertise to a wider market, serving local customers with an extensive and tailored selection, paving the way for ambitious future growth,” he concluded.

Geir Erevik, CEO of Brewery International, echoed this sentiment, saying, “[Olvi Group is] a strong multi-beverage operator with deep expertise, a broad portfolio, strong brands, and robust local operations across Europe.”

Olvi is known for its broad product portfolio, including beers, waters, ciders, long drinks, soft drinks, wines, juices, and sports, wellness and energy drinks, as well as distillates.

The company has operations in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus and Denmark, and a presence in 80 export markets.
