Spain: Mahou-San Miguel acquires Cervezas Alhambra
Mahou-San Miguel Group has acquired Spanish brewery Cervezas Alhambra, which will increase the group's market share in Spain by 2%, Drinks Business Review published March 28. Financial details were not disclosed.
Mahou-San Miguel said that it will maintain Cervezas Alhambra's operational independence, and boost its brands and develop distribution and production. Mahou-San Miguel added that Cervezas Alhambra will profit from the economic, human and technological support of the Spanish capital beer group, which will help to strengthen its industrial base in Andalusia.
Mahou-San Miguel has an industrial framework with the capacity to produce over 11.5 million hectoliters of beer per year in its five Spanish factories. The acquisition means the group will have an additional two factories, in Granada and Cordoba.
