Brewing news USA, PA: The Appalachian Brewing Company closes location in Collegeville

The Appalachian Brewing Company has announced it has closed one of its locations, PennLive.com reported on January 5.

ABC Collegeville located at 50 W. Third Ave. in Collegeville, Montgomery County closed in late December. The company said the closing was due to challenges and costs to keep the facility up to its standards. The company said it had hoped to reopen the facility this year but said that there were “too many hurdles” and the location will be closing for good.

The brewery was founded in 1997 in Harrisburg and has locations in Dauphin, Cumberland, Adams, Lancaster and Chester counties. Last year, the Appalachian Brewing Company opened two new locations, one in the Shippensburg area and the other one in the West Chester area.
