Australia: Barley stocks running down fast thanks to active exports
Australias barley stocks of crop 2017/18 are running down fast. Exports were expected to reach 3.5 mln tonnes by end March and 5.5 mln tonnes for the whole campaign, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their latest report.
85% of the Australian exports will go to China, the balance to other Asian markets, industry observers agree.
Initial and very speculative new crop estimates are 9.7 to 10.0 mln tonnes (after 8.9 mln tonnes in 2017/18).
