World: 2019/20 barley trade forecast increased to 28.115 mln tonnes
The world barley trade forecast for 2019/20 is increased to 28.115 mln tonnes this month from 27.96 mln in June, USDA said in its latest report.
Export forecast is up for Canada (+500 thousand tonnes to 2.5 mln) and down for Ukraine (-300 thousand tonnes to 4.2 mln.
The forecast for 2018/19 world barley trade is 25.761 mln tonnes, the analysts said.
World barley production in 2019/20 is seen at 151.865 mln tonnes this month vs. 152.058 mln tonnes in the June report and 139.496 mln in 2018/19.
Total barley consumption is forecast at 148.959 mln tonnes (versus 149.006 forecast for 2019/20 in June and 141.574 mln tonnes forecast for 2018/19) and ending stocks at 20.167 mln tonnes (20.398 and 17.261 mln tonnes, respectively).
