EU: Sluggish pace of malt exports in 2025/26 continues

The troubling sluggish pace of malt exports in 2025/26 continues with the gap to the previous four years still widening, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.

At a country level, Belgium is the leading exporter nation (162.2 thousand tonnes), with the Netherlands moving up to the #3 position (67.1 thousand tonnes), just behind Germany (94.2 thousand).

The import of European malt is led by Brazil (59.7 thousand tonnes in 2025/26 so far). Of note, Cambodia malt volumes have improved.
