USA, TX: Manhattan Project Beer Co. plans to grow with new facility

Manhattan Project Beer Co., a Dallas-based brewery, is moving and expanding east, MSN reported.

The brewery will shift its manufacturing and distribution to a new facility in Mesquite, which is being developed by Simple Development Partners, a North Texas-based commercial real estate development firm. Manhattan Project Beer Co. will take up about half of a new 90,000-square-foot building.

The brewery’s West Dallas taproom will remain open, and the new location in Mesquite will serve as its primary production facility.

The Mesquite facility will handle the heavy lifting, Misty Sanford, co-founder of Manhattan Project, wrote in a LinkedIn post. That’s “so West Dallas can stay focused on what it does best: being the original heart of Manhattan Project,” she said.

Stephen Graham, managing partner at Simple Development, said he hopes to have the facility open by the first quarter of 2027.

“We’re going full speed ahead,” Graham said.

The facility will be located at 2050 Jane St. near U.S. Highway 80 and the Heritage Trail. Graham said the plan is to restore Jane Street by widening the road and adding a sidewalk on the residential side.

At a Mesquite Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on June 23, Karl Sanford, co-founder of Manhattan Project Beer Co., said the city expressed interest in the addition of a taproom or restaurant at the property, similar to the company’s West Dallas location.

Graham said the city and Manhattan Project Beer Co. like the idea of making it similar to the Katy Trail Ice House in Dallas.

“Manhattan Project brings another unique and growing business to our community,” Mesquite City Manager Cliff Keheley said in a statement. “We are excited for the opportunity this project will bring to revitalize a nearby neighborhood and enhance one of our restaurant and entertainment districts.”
