USA, SC: River Dog Brewing Co. permanently shuts its doors in Ridgeland

Ridgeland’s River Dog Brewing Co. permanently shut its doors on Feb. 8 after 12 years of business. The business announced its closing on Feb. 5 through a post on Facebook, with frequent guests and locals flooding the comments with messages to say goodbye.

River Dog Brewing Co. stated that the closure comes as many of their family members had reached retirement and others needed more time to be with family.

The microbrewery was known for its homemade draft beers, unique flights and pints. They even offered tours of their brewery facility to guests so they could learn about the microbrewery process.

This small but mighty brewery had about 12 different beers on tap that ranged in flavor, so there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Some of the fan-favorite brews included their pilsners, the Edisto Gold, Pappy Van Winkle and River Dog IPA. River Dog Brewing Co. has also won awards for many of its brews, including a gold medal from the Great American Beer Festival for its 3 Barrel Circus.

Reviews and visitors mentioned in their comments that whenever they brought their kids, River Dog served them root beer so they could still join in on the fun.

The next step for the team is still unknown, and for now, they plan to spend time with their loved ones.

River Dog Brewing Co. was located at 591 Browns Cove Road, Unit H in Ridgeland.
