Brewing news World: Beer volume growth could surpass 4.5% this year

The 2021 beer volume growth estimate is increased to 4.5%, based mainly upon the strong first-half results from major brewers as AB InBev, Heineken, and Carlsberg, but looking deeper into the numbers offers even more optimism, as this estimate may turn out to be considerably conservative, RMI Analytics said in their September report.

From the major brewers Q2 2021 reports, the three companies mentioned above have achieved impressive volume, revenue, and EBITDA improvements. Collectively, they represent nearly 50% of the global beer volumes, and their H1 results alone put all global beer volumes on a trajectory for 5-7% growth.

It is very encouraging to see brewers of all sizes adapting to the pandemic situation with numerous innovations (e-commerce, packaged beer, etc) and now carrying these improvements into the future. The brewers’ Q3 results will be a tell-tale sign to how this year will finish, the analysts said.
