Brewing news Canada, BC: Electric Bicycle Brewing launching soon in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood

The growing population of local breweries in the fittingly named Brewery Creek area of Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood is soon to have another addition, with the upcoming opening of Electric Bicycle Brewing, Canadian Beer News reported on November 28.

Located in a former electric bicycle factory at 20 E 4th Avenue, the brewery is being founded by owners Elliot McKerr and Matt Ryan, along with sales and marketing manager Leigh Matkovich, and a head brewer to be announced soon.

Promising to offer “an ideal combination of outrageously good beers with gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, a great atmosphere and grooving music,” Electric Bicycle is aiming to launch in early 2018. Once open, the team intends to “focus on pushing stylistic limits and delivering flavor forward thirst quenching beers,” and will be asking customers for feedback on what beer styles they’d like the brewery to make.
