Argentina: Barley harvest to be later than usual this year

Argentina’s wheat harvest is done by 30% with yields around 2.2 t/ha on average - about 10% lower than last year.

Although yields slightly improved lately much better results are needed to meet the production forecast, GrainCom said in their latest report on December 1.

The nation’s barley harvest will be later than usual. The crop development is a bit behind due to late seeding and not ideal weather conditions during the vegetation period. First cuts are showing mixed results in yields (about 15/20 % lower than last year) and quality (low protein).
