Romania: Barley crop expected to drop by 32% year-on-year
Barley and winter two-row barley was harvested from 98%-99% of the harvested area spring two-row barley from 62%, UkrAgroConsult mentioned in its 31 weekly Black Sea Grain report of August 04.
Judged from present harvesting data, the barley (two-row included) crop this year is going to drop by 32% y/y to 777 KMT mainly because of the lower areas under this particular cereal – as the average yield is likely to merely inch down to 2.39 t/ha from 2.40 t/ha last year.
Last year, the crop was 1.150 MMT but the areas under winter barley (regular and two-row) were significantly larger.
