Brewing news USA: Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc launches Bacardi Silver Peach

Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. (A-B) is adding a new flavor offering to its Bacardi Silver line this summer with its latest introduction - Bacardi Silver Peach, the St. Louis Business Journal posted May 22. The Bacardi Silver family includes flavors such as strawberry, big apple and watermelon.

The applied plastic label features the Bacardi Bat Device trademark logo centered above the Bacardi Silver trademark logo. The brand's suggested pricing will be on par with other flavors in the Bacardi Silver line, according to a release.

Bacardi Silver Peach will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and a 24-ounce single serve bottle. Bottled at A-B's Baldwinsville, N.Y., brewery, Bacardi Silver Peach contains 5 percent alcohol by volume.

"What makes the Bacardi Silver line so exciting is that the flavors are constantly evolving and we believe peach is absolutely perfect for summer," said Cindy Trusler, manager, innovation/new products for A-B, in a statement.

A-B's 2005 summer launch of Tilt, a raspberry-flavored caffeinated malt beverage with guarana and ginseng, was sold in individual, 16-ounce silver cans. Tilt followed A-B's spring launch of Bacardi Silver Watermelon; and B-to-the-E, a caffeinated, fruit-flavored beer launched last fall -- all targeted to the younger consumer.

Bacardi U.S.A. Inc., based in Miami, is the US import, sales, and marketing arm of Bacardi Limited, one of the world's leading wine and spirits producers. The company markets Bacardi rums and Martini & Rossi wines and spirits, including vermouth. It also sells other liquid assets such as Dewar's Scotch whisky, Bombay gins, DiSaronno Amaretto, and Grey Goose vodka. The company changed its name from Bacardi-Martini U.S.A. to Bacardi U.S.A. in 1999.
