Brewing news Canada: Molson signs a new collective agreement with the employees union

Molson Canada and the Brewery Winery and Distillery Workers Union, representing Molson's unionized employees in Vancouver, have successfully reached a new collective agreement, CCNMatthews communicated May 15.

The new six year collective agreement for the 151 unionized employees at the Vancouver brewery extends to April 21, 2012.

"We are pleased with this settlement as it provides value for both the union and our company as a whole," said Rene Holt, Molson's Vancouver brewery manager.

Molson has a long history in British Columbia and a tradition of brewing great beer in Vancouver while supporting the local economy and community. With roots dating back to 1786 and a time-honoured tradition of brewing quality beers, Molson Canada is proud to be the nation's preferred brewer.

The company offers popular brands in Canada with an brand portfolio which includes, Molson Canadian, Coors Light, Rickard's, and Pilsner. Molson Canada also partners with other leading brewers to offer such global brands as: Heineken, Miller Genuine Draft and Foster's Lager.

Molson employs 3,100 Canadians, operates six breweries, including the boutique brewery Creemore. Molson Canada is part of the Molson Coors Brewing Company.
