Barley news Argentina: Malting barley prices slightly down as very little trade is concluded at the moment

Argentina’s malting barley FOB price is slightly down, while feed barley is unchanged. There is demand in the market but buyers’ have lower price ideas with very little trade concluded, RMI Analytics reported earlier this month.

In regard to FAS prices, the situation remains unchanged, with limited selling from farmers. The robust mandate obtained by the Milei government during the mid-term elections offers additional support for the free-market economic plan.

Farmers are anticipating export tax reform that would benefit commodity prices. Although RMI Analysts have not updated their production estimate yet, damage from the frost event has been noted. It is expected that this frost will further limit farmers' willingness to sell malting barley, at least until the full impact of the frost becomes more apparent.
