USA, RI: Smug Brewing Company to close for good on August 30

Smug Brewing Company‘s last day pouring pints in Pawtucket will be on Aug. 30.

The Carver Street business announced its decision to close in a social media post on July 29.

“After nearly 7 incredible years, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our doors,” the brewery wrote. “While this is the end of Smug under our ownership, we’re hopeful for what the future holds for this space.”

The business will remain open throughout next month from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The brewery encouraged people to use their gift cards and noted that there will be final events and merch deals in the near future. The social media post also urged anyone who may be interested in taking over the business to reach out.

“We can’t thank you enough for the love, laughs, and pints we’ve shared with this amazing community,” Smug Brewing said. “From day one, you’ve shown up with heart — and it’s meant everything.”
