USA, NC: Highland Brewing Company to leave its downtown Asheville location
Highland Brewing Company is set to leave its downtown Asheville location at the S&W Market, where it has served craft brews for nearly four years, WLOS reported on April 29.
The brewery's last day at the market will be Friday, May 2, according to a release from the company.
In a new development, Chris Faber, known for his work at The Times Bar and Coffee Shop, will introduce a "new beverage concept" in this space at the S&W Market, the release said.
"This transition opens the door to something fresh, dynamic and deeply rooted in Asheville's creative spirit," Faber said in the release. "Our team is passionate about curating experiences that celebrate the city's exceptional culinary and beverage scene, and we're excited to share what's coming next."
The new beverage concept, featuring Spencer Shultz and Becky Bronson as co-bar managers, is expected to open in the summer of 2025.
"It's fortuitous for S&W in that Chris Faber can expand the reach of his talent, and for Highland, where we will focus fully on our destination brewery," said Leah Wong Ashburn, president and CEO of Highland Brewing.
The S&W Market will continue to operate seven days a week, offering a variety of local food vendors.
