USA: US Beer Wholesalers January data paints uninspiring early start to 2024

The January 2024 data from the US Beer Wholesalers paints a rather uninspiring early start to 2024, with the overall Index remaining below the growth level of 50 (although the January 2024 level is improved over January 2023), RMI Analytics said in their early February report.

While the Import Category continues to perform rather well, at an Index level of 59, the momentum is slowing as the current value trails the 68 level in December 2023. This shifting lower is a trend this month across most of the beverage categories listed, as January is proving to be a struggle.

There is no rebound in Craft as volumes remain weak, and the FMB/Seltzers & Cider categories are stable at lower levels, it is reported.
