EU & UK: Barley crop estimate unchanged at 54.65 mln tonnes
The final EU + UK situation is unchanged, with a barley crop at 54.65 mln tonnes, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
Within this reduced crop there are quality challenges to be addressed, but the weaker maltster demand is reducing pressure on the market while barley exports keep a steady stream of barley flowing.
With 4 mln tonnes less barley from crop 2023, Europe’s ability to support global trade is limited to a degree but the current weak demand environment is calming the market, the RMI analysts said.
