Australia: Private barley crop forecasts increased to 12-13 mln tonnes
A large barley acreage and benign weather conditions have increased Australias private crop forecasts to 12 -13 mln tonnes, H. M. Gauger GmbH said earlier in August.
It would be a third year of near record production, thanks to changed weather (climate) conditions.
Barley exports in October-May were 5.6 mln tonnes. Malting barley went to Canada (96,000 tonnes), Mexico (32,000), and Peru (96,000 tonnes).
