EU: Good weather for barley growing

Before the long weekend of April 29 � May 1 the French Centre and Burgundy, Germany, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Northern Italy were considered the most endangered regions of the EU.

Meantime Italy received good rainfalls, France south of the Loire storms and showers of variable intensity. Further rains are forecast for the southern half of France and also for southwest Germany, analysts commented on May 2nd. The dryness persists in Northern Europe from France and England to Denmark, so far in all of Germany and parts of Poland. Drought conditions are called very damaging in Czech, Slovakia and the Balkans.
