UK: Scottish & Newcastle appoints Bridget Macaskill as non-executive director

Scottish & Newcastle plc announces the appointment of Bridget Macaskill as non-executive director, according to S&N�s news room, March 6.

Ms Macaskill (58) is currently a non-executive director of Prudential plc and of the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae). Previous roles include Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OppenheimerFunds, Inc, New York and, until recently, non-executive director of Sainsbury plc.

Sir Brian Stewart, S&N Chairman said 'Bridget Macaskill brings to S&N a broad international corporate and investment management knowledge with great experience of retail and consumer marketing.'

'I know that she will make a strong contribution to the future development of our business and I look forward to working with her.'

The appointment will take effect from 1st April 2007.
