Kenya: EABL will provide a Sh35 million sponsorship to sport federations

East Africa Breweries Ltd announced November 14 a raft of multi-million sponsorship packages under their newly-launched Tusker Sports banner to federations considered to be professionally run, The Nation (Nairobi) published November 15.

The sponsorship, totalling over Sh35 million, will benefit Athletic Kenya, Kenya Rugby Football Union, Kenya Open Golf Ltd and the Jockey Club of Kenya.

"We are looking at bringing professionalism to the management of sporting federations. It is in this regard that we tied Tusker's sponsorship eligibility on best management practice by the federations," EABL marketing director Patricia Ithau said.

She added: "Not only is this safeguarding our investment but more importantly it ensures that we can indeed count on our federation to nurture and grow sports professionally."

All sports sponsorship by the beer company will now be channelled through the Tusker Sports banner.
