India: United Breweries increased profits by 31.21%

United Breweries (UB) has announced its total profit increased in 2005 by 31.21% in comparison to 2004 reaching Rs 5.96bn (US$ 132.0mn EUR 107.47mn), The Hindu Business Line posted on 28 April 2006.

The net profit during the year was Rs 0.48bn, reflecting thus a 244.65% increase. UB aims to push up the liquidity of the market by selling its equity stock from Rs 10 per share to Rs 1 per share.
