China: Breweries share prices edge higher
Breweries saw big stocks gains following the release of data showing the first-quarter economic growth at 10.2 percent. "Investors are bullish on their sales in China's booming economy," said Chen Huiqin, an analyst at Huatai Securities.
Tsingtao Brewery, China's largest beer maker by revenue, rose 4.0 percent to 9.96; Beijing Yanjing Brewery jumped 10.04 percent to 8.77; and Fujian Yanjing Huiquan Brewery advanced 7.2 percent to 6.11.
