France: Frances beer imports down 24.5% in 2024
In 2024, Frances beer imports decreased by -24.5% to 642M litres, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth, IndexBox reported on January 28.
Overall, during the last decade, the nations beer shipments from abroad saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 16%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 959 mln litres. From 2020 to 2024, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, Frances beer imports dropped to $915 mln (IndexBox estimates) in 2024. Over the last decade, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2014 to 2024: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2023 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.2B, and then declined markedly in the following year.
