Barley news World: Malting barley prices well-supported by brewers demand

As the global pandemic recovery continues, malting barley prices are well-supported by the resulting demand but the slowing of growth may cool the market off (to a degree at least), RMI Analytics said in their November report.

In the analysts’ view, a slowdown in demand would only make a minor adjustment across the brewing supply chain due to the structural challenges in the current barley supply & demand.

The slower recovery pace towards the 2019 beer volumes brings with it increasing needs for malting barley which will support prices.

Led by France (yet again), barley prices continue to stretch higher but the pace appears to be slowing down.

Canada is higher, mainly to maintain a spread above French barley economics while Argentina is unchanged.

Australia is gaining considerable interest from around the world from non-traditional markets.
