EU: Malt export pace still trailing last year�s

The pace of EU-27 malt exports is still trailing the levels seen in the previous four shipping seasons, RMI Analytics reported.

In the first 17 weeks, the typical origins lead exports (Belgium with 207,331 tonnes, Germany with 118,772 tonnes), with France moving up the ranking in recent weeks.

Although beer volumes in Brazil are facing challenges, malt shipments remain ahead of last year (71,286 tonnes vs 45,609) along with Turkey (32,138 vs 22,763 tonnes).
