Castle Malting is delighted and proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of African Beer Cup 2024. This is by far the most important, competitive, prestigious and influential beer competition in Africa. Only beers brewed in Africa are eligible for participation and there are special beer categories that focus on local brewing traditions and ingredients.

This year more than 50 top beer judges from 14 countries all around the globe will double-judge every single beer applying strictly and thoroughly the 2021 BJCP guidelines. The deadline to register your beers in the competition is April 12. Access https://entry.africanbeercup.com, fill in the application form and make the corresponding payment to participate. Beer submission deadline is May the 3rd. The awards will be announced on May 25 at BeerEx Africa, the biggest exhibition for beer brewers on the African continent, in Cape Town, South Africa.

In 2023, Specialty Beers Ltd, a craft brewery from Ghana, got the Gold Award of the African Beer Cup 2023 in the Strong Belgian Ale category for their Tale 5 Farmhouse Ale. In their recipe they used our CHÂTEAU PALE ALE®, CHÂTEAU MUNICH and CHÂTEAU CARA RUBY®. Apart from using hops, the brewer opted for infusing lemongrass and lime leaves, ending up with a distinct citrusy aroma in the final product.
