Canada: SABMiller - a potential buyer of Canada's top brewer

SABMiller has been identified as a potential buyer of Sleeman Breweries, the biggest beer maker in Canada, Bloomberg announced May 22. SABMiller brews Miller Lite and Pilsner Urquell.

Sleeman chief executive John Sleeman said there had been "a flurry of activity and interest in Sleeman's operations", but declined to name potential suitors. The stock has surged 37 percent since the brewer's announcement.
