USA, IA: Three Iowa craft brewers combining their production in one facility

Three popular brands in Iowa craft brewing are combining their production in one facility in Waterloo, kcrg.com reported on October 7.

SingleSpeed Brewing Company announced that Backpocket Brewing and Peace Tree Brewing will relocate their production facilities to SingleSpeed’s location in the former Wonder Bread factory on Commercial Street. The combined operation will be called “The Brewery @ WonderBread and is slated to open in early 2026.

“This is a win for Waterloo, for Iowa craft beer, and for every fan who has supported our breweries along the way,” said Dave Morgan, Founder, SingleSpeed. “By bringing these teams together at our WonderBread facility, we’re building a destination that showcases the best of Iowa beer and sets the stage for future innovation.”

SingleSpeed said it will need approval from the City of Waterloo to expand its facility to house the added production.

As part of the agreement, SingleSpeed is purchasing Backpocket’s intellectual property to its products.

“This collaboration ensures our brands and Iowa’s craft beer tradition will not only endure, but thrive,” said Aaron Vargas, Owner of Backpocket/Peace Tree.
