USA, TN: Monkey Town Brewing Company to close its third location in Chattanooga
A brewery with historic ties to Dayton, Tennessee will be closing the doors of its third location in Chattanooga, News Channel 9 reported on October 8.
Monkey Town Brewing Company announced on Facebook that their Chattanooga location will officially close on October 13th.
"After 3 years, we have made the decision to turn our main focus back to our Loudon and Dayton locations, as we have acquired some historic buildings downtown and have big plans to keep growing Dayton."
The restaurant says the new owners of the building will be utilizing their brewing equipment to offer a selection of house-made beers.
"Because we own our building, we wanted to make sure that whoever bought the property would be able to bring a restaurant & brewery to fill the void of us leaving."
The original Monkey Town Brewing Company--named after the Scopes trial-- is just a short drive away in Dayton.
"We want to thank all of our incredible customers over the years that came through our doors, treated us like the 'neighborhood brew pub' we wanted to be and were the most patient and understanding people we could have hoped for. We were not perfect and made plenty of mistakes, but at the end of the day, it was nice having a presence in the Chattanooga beer scene, and will miss seeing Hixson continue to grow."
