World: Barley trade forecast for 2025/26 left unchanged, crop forecast slightly down this month
World barley trade forecast for 2025/26 has been left unchanged in USDA’s August report – at 28.889 mln tonnes. The forecast for shipments in 2024/25 is 29.461 mln tonnes.
World barley crop is seen at 144.331 mln tonnes, down from 144.825 mln forecast in USDA’s July report but higher than the 2024/25 crop of 143.336 mln tonnes.
Global barley consumption is seen at 144.976 mln tonnes (145.352 mln tonnes in the July report, 146.568 mln in 2024/25) and ending stocks at 17.947 mln tonnes (18.011 and 18.592 mln tonnes, respectively).
