USA, NB: Kinkaider Brewing Company planning new location in Kearney
Kinkaider Brewing Company is moving its retail license from Grand Island to Kearney, KSNB reported on October 25.
Kinkaider co-owner Cody Schmick said they are planning to open up a location right off of I-80 in Kearney.
Schmick said they are partnering with the Younes family to be a part of their complex, which continues to expand with hotels, restaurants and the new sports complex being built in that area.
We have the opportunity to be a part of something much bigger, he said.
Schmick made the announcement on Facebook Live on October 25 that they plan to build a location from the ground up with both Kinkaider and their other brand, Bierhaus, side-by-side.
This is a new model for us, Schmick said, describing the sites layout as similar to Cunninghams at the Lake, where seating overlooks the water.
Kinkaiders new development will offer scenic lake views from the opposite shore.
The Kearney location will include twin buildings with outdoor areas for families, play spaces for children, and additional businesses nearby.
(We are) really excited for the opportunity and ability to be there, he said.
Schmick added that the facility will feature a retail store with merchandise showcasing Kinkaider products.
He said the plan is to open this new spot in either the summer or fall of 2025.
The Grand Island location, which opened in 2018, will close on Halloween, and some of its equipment will be redistributed to other Kinkaider locations in Lincoln, Omaha, and the original brewery in Broken Bow.
A major factor in the move, Schmick said, was relocating the retail license from Grand Island to Kearney, enabling the brewery to undertake this expansion. He thanked Grand Island staff and supporters, encouraging patrons to continue supporting local businesses in the area.
Schmick also announced a new partnership with The Liederkranz in Grand Island, which will begin serving Kinkaider beer.
Kinkaider Brewing Company is celebrating 10 years of business this year.
