Ukraine: January-October beer output down 28.6%

Ukraine’s January-October beer production (excluding zero-alcohol beers) dropped by 28.6% to 10.38 mln hl, Ukrpivo reported on November 21.

According to the industry representatives, the sector is gradually recovering from the 50% decline in the first quarter of this year.

Malt production was down 17.7% in January-October versus the 40.8% decline in Q1.

Ukraine’s 2021 beer output fell by 5% as compared to 2020 – to 17.05 mln hl. Malt production totalled 218.5 thousand tonnes, down 19.5% versus the previous year.
