EU: Empty old barley crop stocks to require acquisition of more than a normal one year supply this season

Totally empty old crop stocks require the acquisition of more than a normal one year supply of barley; the H. M. Gauger GmbH analysts anticipate one additional month demand in Germany, half a month in France, Belgium, Netherlands.

Of course, both the extra demand and the usage of winter barley are very flexible. The present price relation (around €40 difference between 2rs and 6rw) favours a maximum use of winter barley.
