Ukraine: Beer, malt production decline in January-July

Ukraine’s January-July beer production is down 31.6% as compared to the same period last year, data by trade association Ukrpivo said.

According to the official estimates, the nation’s brewers produced 7.14 mln hl of beer over the reporting period (excluding zero- and low-alcohol beer with less than 0.5% alc. by vol.).

Malt production totalled 93.7 thousand tonnes over the reporting period, down 31.3% from January-July 2021.

Ukraine’s Q1 beer output saw a 51% decline. In 2021, local brewers’ output dropped by 5% to 17.05 mln hl, malt production was down 19.5% to 218.5 thousand tonnes.
