Barley news Canada: Barley markets remain very quiet due to a number of factors

With farmers battling wet conditions to get crops planted, liquidity remains very low and buyers are not prepared to accept the current barley prices, all of which leaves the market very quiet, RMI Analytics said in their late May report.

US imported corn futures remain elevated due to wet conditions (planting is advancing rapidly where possible). This leaves feed barley prices well supported and malting barley virtually impossible to contract with farmers at the moment, the analysts said.
