EU: Malt exports in July-April 2021/22 slightly down from last year

EU malt exports in July 2021 - 24 April 2022 were 2.47 mln tonnes vs. 2.53 mln over the same period last campaign, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their May report.

Belgium was the main exporter in July-April with 830 thousand tonnes, followed by France and Germany with 460 thousand tonnes each.

Main EU malt export destinations were: Brazil with 246 thousand tonnes, Nigeria with 172 thousand, Japan with 161, and Mexico with 119 thousand tonnes (all in grain equivalent).
