EU: Malting barley demand returns to Western Europe

Malting barley demand has returned to Western Europe with Denmark leading the way with exports to Germany and overseas (e.g. China, North Africa, Canada, and the US) giving the market a solid underpinning, RMI Analytics said in their latest report earlier this month.

French malting barley prices have moved higher, feed barley prices are softer from pressure in the Black Sea (new crop) and Australia (old crop).

The British and Scandinavian markets are firm as well with the UK market trailing slightly the firmer Danish market, where export interest is still very strong.
