EU: Barley exports already at 65% of anticipated total for 2021/22
As per combined Taxud and port statistics, the EU-27 barley exports to 3rd countries from the beginning of the marketing season till November 21 were 4.57 mln tonnes (+33% year-on-year), with exports from France estimated at 2.190 mln tonnes, or +89% year-on year (Taxud figures for France are incomplete), H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their December report,
The export forecast for 2021/22 is 9.5 mln tonnes, of which 2.5 mln tonnes of malt in barley equivalent.
Barley exports are already at 65% of the anticipated total after only 5 months of the campaign. Shipments to China were 1.6 mln tonnes in July/November.
